Long Time no News Sorry

Well,
since the last time I posted anything my camera had died.  Sorry everyone, it seems life had taken a turn to the fast lane.  I can't seem to find the slow lane as of yet.  Our animals had some losses from the heat recently and we have been busy little bees getting ready for the Gem/Boise County Fair, which starts on July 30th and ends on August 4th!  So don't miss it! It will be a fun filled event with games for kids and lots of good looking animals!  Oh the joys of Fair time! Kyrao the Boer Goat is healthy yet I fear he won't make the weight, I pray that he does though. My son Zeke is taking him this year.  My daughter Beth is taking a pullet Buff Orphington and a Wynedot Hen (one of our layers) both of which are very beautiful.  The hen she is missing feathers which is not good for quality but will be fine for showmanship!  Hopefully I can convince her to take a different hen but I think this is the only Wynedot left besides a white one. White is hard to keep clean but if she looks better than this one I will have her take that one!

Mother's Day Wishes and yesterday's news!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!  Yesterday we took some of the 4-H kids fishing out at Crane Creek Resevour, they had a blast!  We didn't catch anything but there was another family there and they gave us their two fish (one Carp and one Channel Catfish).  They learned to bottom fish today and they got to try all sorts of baits and positions around the Resevour!  Our Daughter bathed our son's goat today and he seemed to be ok with it!  We all got sun burned yesterday!  Soon it will be a tan but until then it will be sensitive to the touch.  our day has been pretty good but it is almost over and I hope it ends great!

Rhubarb Pie and Sunshine!

This afternoon I made my first Rhubarb Pie!  It is still in the oven but I hope it turns out.  anyways the sun is out and the goat that we got last night is staked out in the yard and is missing his momma.  I'll go out there and see him and he runs to the end of his leash, which he then ends up flipping!  He then settles down and walks to me and cuddles a little.  He'll grunt when I tell him to settle down, it is so comical!  I saw the most beautiful little yellow bird with black on its face.  Oh how I wish my camera was working.  :(  I see so many things that I want to take pictures of but can't and it makes me sad to know that I can't share those moments with anyone unless they are there.  Well I better go check on the Goat his name is Kyro (or Babe as I call him!), he reminds me of Babe the pig when he cries.  I know it is silly but it is true. LOL When you have kids and they love that movie alot of things reminds you of different characters from Babe!  I pray that you days go excellent until I write to you again!  So long my friends!

Merry May!

Well, it's me again!
So much as happened our lives since the last time I posted!  Our Ola School children did an excellent job at their May Day Program this year again!  We now have 5 new bunnies and two of them are going to our newest 4-H members, our Cloverbuds! They came and got our other two that we had over a month ago!  these bunnies are so adorable and I am glad to see them go to a 4-H family.  I don't know if I mentioned this before but I am one of the 4-H leaders up here in Ola.  I love being up here in the spring and summer times, the flowers are blooming! I have tulips growing in the backyard and only one white one of the bunch!  My yellow daffodils are blooming constantly.  I see new calves being born each day in the neighbors field. The birds are singing warnings of threat to stay far away from their nests.  I have seen so much new and yet there is always the sadness of death too.  Today our town lost another good ol' boy do to cancer.  We are getting our garden started with Hot Peppers, Tomatoes and watermelons.  I have seen sprouts already and I just planted them the other day!  I believe we will have corn, cucumbers, lettuce and all sorts of good stuff growing in the garden this year!  My husband is back to work!  He is working at the mill in Emmett.  I am so proud of my step-daughter for having our new granddaughter Evalet Sophie Hayes!!!  This is our second granddaughter in three years!  They live in Oregon though :(   I am itching to go see them!  Well I better go check on our chickens whom are laying up to 24 eggs a day now and there is only 11 hens.  So yeah I have lots of eggs! But being up here it is hard to sell the eggs when everyone around has chickens!  Hopefully I can learn to dehighdrate   them.  Ok so I know I spelt it wrong but my thinker is going kaput. Next time you read this the children will be  getting ready for their Field Day and Memorial Day Program!  I love this town!  I hope you enjoyed my ramblings on and soon very soon I will be back on here with some pictures!  I wish you well and God Bless!

This Year yikes I lost my head! HAHA

First I would like to apologize for not being on my own page but do to unforeseen circumstances I was unable to.  I am Back Baby Yeah!  So I just started from January stuff.  We still have chickens and rabbits though not as many, but still there are some.  The rabbits are lucky to be in the shed now because of the weather  or they wouldn't like it.  The chickens turned out to be 7 males in all so I made dinner out of 5 and kept 2 and some of the females well something got to them (some random dog). :(    My kids are growing fast and I am soon to me a step-grandma for the second time.  My son Robert just turned 11 and there is a picture of his cake. All three love the snow but I get too cold anymore these days.  Well I gotta make meatloaf for my wonderful husband and kids for dinner tonight.  So I leave you with this note.  If life gives you Roosters make yourself some stew!

Today's Sad Tail

Sad to say that today our dog Jack passed away today.  He was hit by a motor vehicle earlier today and someone called the Gem Vet Clinic and they proceeded to call us and let us know.  We found him along the side of the road barely warm, I just pray that it was an instant death and that he felt no pain.  He was a comical little fellow and was loved by my family.
